Padding is just thick enough so you can move around, while also being supported, open backing and material is just tactile enough to help grip

I wanted a lower-profile and more flexible kneepad. I was thrilled when I put these on and had full range of motion. Previous kneepads were bulkier and limited my knee bend, which limited my grip. Although I haven't been able to try them on the pole yet, they're great on the floor.
